Can’t wait to see how I manage to get stymied by this supposedly simple job.
Determining the right oils was actually annoyingly difficult. BMW lists them as lifetime items so the official literature doesn’t give fluid specs or capacities. That meant I had to dredge through forum post after forum post of people squabbling over the correct brands and weights. The general consensus was MT90 for the trans and 75W90 for the diff.

I used that in the M37, I can’t break them in until the truck is done so there it sits. We ll let’s see, I think it was Amsoil 75-90 in the axles but we are using the Redline now I believe.

Did you call Red Line and ask them which flavor to use?
I’ve had excellent results using Red Line in manual transmissions and transaxles.

They said to use Grape or Banana but not Rockin’ Rasp berry.

I put this stuff in the Mini’s trans about 15k miles ago:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002INJ69I/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Red Line 50205 MTL 75W80 GL-4
Seems to be working well.
